MTB Trek Marlin 6, year 2022: With suspension fork and 10 gears. 600sek/day and 3600 per week
MTB Yosemite X-trail 29: With suspension fork and 24 gears. 450sek/day and 2700 per week
Yosemite Cruisers: Sturdy bicycles with broad tires, foot brake and no gears. 300sek/day and 1800 per week
Helmets, a detailed map, and an emergency tool kit are included in the MTB and bicycle rental. Bicycle bags of 90 liter capacity are included upon request on the bicycle rental.

Detailed briefing of bike trails

The possibilities for cycling in the Malingsbo-Kloten Nature Reserve are extended. Either choose one of our many routes on the trailmap above or let us know how far you would like to bike, and we will recommend and mark out a suitable route on the map.

Highlights along the way

With the aid of a bicycle, you will find many of the Nature Reserve's most beautiful places. The most scenic routes and hidden gems are marked on the map and we encourage you to explore them beforehand. The roads in white on the map are dirt roads, and also recommended for cycling.

Starting point

Start and finish at the Wilderness Lodge in the small village of Kloten. Enjoy comfortable beds, a personal touch, and wild Nordic animals just around the corner. Kloten is situated in the heart of the Malingsbo-Kloten Nature Reserve along Road 233 between Skinnskatteberg and Kopparberg. A 2.5-hour drive from Stockholm.

Start and finish time - 9:00 to 19:00

When renting a bicycle, you can start and finish at any time during the opening hours. The bicycles are rented out for a full day, and the price is the same regardless of the time of day you start. We are open daily between 09:00 - 19:00 from 1 May - 30 September and after bookings from 1 October – 30 April.

Bikeing with children

We have both children’s bicycles and child seats available. We cannot guarantee that we have mountain bikes for the smallest children, but we have bicycles with broad tires and foot brakes that are suitable for children from 4 years old.

Singletrack and hiking trails

The hiking trails in the Malingsbo-Kloten Nature Reserve are suitable for hiking but not for MTB. The only good option for MTB on paths is along the local circular running track of 2.5 km.

Accommodation in the Malingsbo-Kloten Nature Reserve

Accommodation at the starting point of the bicycle trails.

Wilderness Lodge is located at the starting point for the bicycle trails. It is the perfect location when you cycle one of the bicycle trails each day. Staying at the Wilderness Lodge is also an excellent option for the night before and after the bicycle excursions.

Cycle with accommodation along the bicycle trails

In the village of Nyfors, it is possible to stay for the night at River Lodge. River Lodge is located halfway along the 64 km Nyforsleden bicycle trail and the 47 km Malingsbo-Kloten Nature Reserve trail.

Adventure Center

Kloten
The Adventure Center is located in the Malingsbo- Kloten Nature Reserve and is the starting point for all our activities at Nordic Discovery. Here you can rent canoes, bikes and equipment. You can also book guided tours and accommodation. Parking, ice cream and a small shop is also available. There is no supermarket in kloten so remember to bring food for your stay.
Moose safari
Kloten
Experience the thrill of a close encounter with the king of the forest. The safari is a five hour evening tour where you get to see and taste the moose. Moose wraps are served as wilderness picknick meal as you get to know everything about the moose. Then the moose searching begins with a one hour hike in the sunset and continuing by minibus.

Beaver safari

Feel a heart beat skip as the beaver suddenly uses its powerful tail to slap the surface of the mirror still water to dive. The beaver safari is a five hour evening tour by canoe. Wraps are served as wilderness picknick meal while you get to know everything about the beaver. Then the beaver searching in canoes begins right before sunset and continues late into the night.

Rent canoes at Nordic Discoverys Adventure Center in Kloten and experience the wilderness from the best perspective, the water. Canoes can be rented for 1 day or more and all equipment needed such as paddles, lifewests and trolley is included. A short breefing is given before departure. Parking is free of charge for our guests.
