A nice small rest cabin along the Bergslagsleden trail with a fireplace and a stream flowing a few meters away. In the Åbo area, 200 to 300 people previously made their living mainly through charcoal production, logging, and timber hauling. Downstream along Sandån, about 500 meters from Åbostugan, there was a small sawmill. About 100 meters upstream there was a small mill. Many house foundations in the surroundings bear witness to earlier settlements.
